Fulton Fresh University

Introduction

Fulton Fresh University (FFU) is a free, 4-week pilot program designed for college students, combining cooking demonstrations with nutrition education lessons. Each participant receives 10 pounds of free, fresh produce, kitchen tools, and recipe magnets. FFU is free to all current Georgia State students with a valid GSU email. Class attendance is capped at 40 students per class, and pre-registration is recommended. Sign-up links will be available a few weeks before the class start date. 

Objectives

  • Encourage and support diverse and balanced diets through nutrition education and exposure to a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables.
  • Promote culinary skills and food preparation techniques that make nutritious meals more accessible and appealing.
  • Increase self-efficacy and confidence in nutrition, food safety, and cooking skills.
  • Empower individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to make healthier food choices and manage their resources efficiently.
