Category 41 Mosquito Control Training Program

Cost: $50

Online via Zoom. This program is to prepare those who are planning to take the Georgia Pesticide Applicator Licensing Exam in Category 41 Mosquito Control to pass it. Participants who already have the license, five pesticide applicator recertification credits will be offered in Category 41 Mosquito Control: https://tinyurl.com/3p4rrz75. Lunch and Learn: The Basics of Pruning 

January 13, 2026, 12:00pm – 1:00pm

Pruning is the practice of cutting away certain parts of a plant - usually branches, stems, or buds - to help it grow better. The main idea is to remove what the plant doesn't need so it can focus its energy on healthy growth. Timothy Daly the Agriculture and Natural Resources Agent for the Henry County Extension Office will discuss the basics of pruning and answer any questions that may arise. 

No cost and no registration needed.

 A food-safety training and certification program developed by the National Restaurant Association. It teaches food service workers how to handle, prepare, and serve food safely to prevent foodborne illness.

Lunch and Learn: Building the Perfect Soil

Building the perfect soil means creating a ground environment where plants can grow strong, healthy, and productive. Good soil provides the right balance of nutrients, air, water, and organic matter so roots can easily grow and absorb what they need. Dr. Jason Lessl, Director of the Agricultural & Enviornmental Services Lab at the University of Georgia will discuss how to build the perfect soil for gardening.
