Songbirds
The Master Naturalist Songbird Project is dedicated to restoring and re-establishing lost and degraded habitats to increase and protect native songbird populations. Through careful monitoring and detailed record-keeping with NestWatch, we contribute valuable data to support bird conservation science. We are committed to fostering public involvement and education, empowering communities to actively participate in the conservation, protection, and appreciation of songbirds throughout our country.
Currently there are boxes on the Greenway, Chattahoochee Pointe Park, and near the Bethelview trailhead. During the last few years, the habitats where the boxes are located have been changing. Reflecting these changes, the occupants have been changing to include bluebirds, chickadees, Carolina wrens, tree swallows, and prothonotary warblers fledging babies. If you want to know more about building and monitoring songbird boxes visit Nestwatch.
