Nutrition and Health
Starting Friday, August 7, 2026, from 5-6 p.m. UGA Extension Forsyth County is excited to announce a new educational program: A Taste of Wellness at the Halcyon in Alpharetta. This 12-week program utilizes the Big Creek Greenway for scenic, shaded walks and ends right in the heart of Halcyon. Guided by FACS Agent and nutrition expert Dr. Roshan Ramlal, this program is designed to help you lose/maintain weight, de-stress, and tweak your diet to align with your health goals (and yes, leashed pups are welcome!). Cost $0. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. Register to attend. Bring a water bottle.

Chronic Disease Prevention through Nutrition and Movement

- Fridays, starting August 7 from 5-6pm
- Celebrating America's 250th! Cast Iron Cooking - September 15 at 7-8pm at Sharon Forks Library. Family and Consumer Sciences Agent Roshan Ramlal, PhD, MPH from the UGA Extension Office demonstrates cast iron cooking techniques and explains the benefits of cast iron cooking and how to care for your iron cookware. Attendees will enjoy samples of dishes prepared in cast iron cookware.
- This program will require event passes. Event passes are free and available to participants on the day of the program. They will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis starting 30 minutes before the event start time.
