Three women checking a bird house for occupants in a field of tall grass.

Tag-along with Forsyth County Master Naturalists as they collect information from several bird nests in March through June! Each week the boxes are checked for nests, eggs and chicks, and you can join the experience of watching young birds grow up and fledge. The information collected is entered into NestWatch, a citizen based program that collects data to study the current condition of breeding bird populations and how they may be changing over time.

Participants will be walking 2 miles in uneven terrain over a period of 1 to 1 ½ hours. Wear close-toed shoes that can get wet and clothing that is appropriate for current weather conditions. You'll also want a hat and insect repellant. Youth under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Be aware monitoring might be canceled at the last minute due to rain. Monitoring will be held at Chattahoochee Pointe Park, 5790 Chattahoochee Pointe Drive, Suwanee, at 9:00 AM. Meet at the Community Orchard at the far end of the parking area by the restrooms.

Please register for the nest monitoring days you're planning on joining us so we can keep you updated on any weather-related scheduling.
