Equine Mounted Drill Team

Equine Mounted Drill Team – performance and competition of a choreographed routine on horseback to music.  Safety, Teamwork, Progress, and Fun are focal points in all practices and competitions.  Must be able to complete various maneuvers  while making immediate decisions of change for safety.  Riders must be able to communicate positively and constructively with their teammates and be willing to make adjustments as requested by their coach. Competitions are 4-5 weekends per season.  Members must have access to the horse they will be riding for the full season and are expected to attend every practice.  Members must also provide their own equine transportation to/from practices/competitions. Due to the nature of this 4-H project, there is usually a waiting list for anyone interested in joining the team.

Who Can Participate?

  • The Equine Mounted Drill Team is open to 4th - 12th graders

Meetings

  • Practices weekly on Fridays and Sundays (YEAR ROUND)*
