Value of Landscapes
MGEVs work within communities to develop the knowledge and skill to ensure proper design, installation, and maintenance of sustainable landscapes for economic benefit to residents, state and local government employees and agencies, and professionals in impacted fields, such as tourism and real-estate development.
In support of this priority, MGEVs are involved with organizations like Atlanta Habitat for Humanity where they provide leadership to collaborating volunteer organizations as landscape plants are selected and installed at newly constructed homes. In addition, MGEVs work closely with the homeowner to provide initial instruction and follow up visits guiding plant care. Master Gardeners also engage in landscape projects at historical sites and museums by creating demonstration gardens.
