Learn all about common weeds that pop up in your lawns and flower beds in this interactive learning session. We will have distinctive types of garden weeds exhibiting how they grow and spread in the landscape. If you have some garden weeds that you would like to ID, feel free to bring them to this program.

Pollinator Party on August 24th!

Come out to our Fayette County Extension Education Garden to help count pollinators for the 2024 Great Southeast Pollinator Census! We will have scavenger hunts for the kids and volunteers will be on site to educate you about the plants growing in the Education Garden! We hope to see you there!

Guest Speaker will be Peter Helfrich, President of the Metro Atlanta Beekeepers Association! Peter has been a backyard beekeeper for 13 years and a native bee enthusiast. He currently chairs City of Decatur’s Bee City USA® committee.

Successful Succulents / August 27th

Learn how to properly care for succulents in this educational program. Participants will be able to learn the difference between sedums, succulents, and cacti as well as learn the care requirements of each. We will discuss growing these beauties in containers and/or in the ground.
