The Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) helps Georgia families eat better for less!
Funded since 1969 by the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture and delivered through the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension, EFNEP offers practical nutrition and physical activity information, food safety education, food resource management strategies, and recipe demonstrations within community settings throughout the state.
UGA EFNEP delivers interactive educational sessions where participants try new recipes and learn how to improve nutrition practices, stretch their food dollars, and prevent food-borne illness. We provide all teaching materials and recipe ingredients at no cost to our partners or participants. We only require a table and electricity. Kitchen facilities are not necessary.
This program is offered through county Extension offices in Georgia. Contact your local office to see about availability in your county.
