University of Georgia Affiliates

Georgia 4-H As a department within UGA Extension, the state's 4-H Youth Development office oversees all youth programming for more than 170,000 children ages 9-19.

UGA College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences CAES serves the trifold mission of the land grant university in teaching, research, and outreach. It serves as the administrative unit for Cooperative Extension at UGA.

UGA College of Family and Consumer Sciences FACS advances the well-being of individuals and families over their lifespans, and strengthens communities through the generation and dissemination of knowledge, education of professionals, and provision of research-based programs.

UGA Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources Warnell prepares leaders in the conservation and sustainable management of forests and other natural resources; to discover ways to restore and better use the Earth's natural resources; and to put into practice forestry and natural resources knowledge.

UGA Public Service and Outreach This administrative arm of the university enhances the quality of life in Georgia by applying the knowledge of the University to the state's evolving economic, social, and community needs. It is comprised of eight units and oversees all public service faculty.

Extension Affiliates

Fort Valley State University Extension The FVSU College of Agriculture, Family Sciences and Technology is our partner in Extension education in nearly two dozen counties. Specialists from both universities also work together to share information and address statewide issues.

National 4-H Council This non-profit partner supports national and state 4-H programs with a focus on fundraising, brand management, communications, and legal and fiduciary services. It also oversees the National 4-H Conference Center and the National 4-H Supply Service.

eXtension The U.S. Cooperative Extension System shares resources and tools through eXtension.org that enables the Extension workforce to scale up its local and national impact.

State Agencies and Partners

U.S. Department of Agriculture The USDA's National Institute of Food and Agriculture provides leadership and funding as the federal leader of Cooperative Extension. Other USDA partner agencies include the Agriculture Research Service, Agricultural Marketing Service, and Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service.

Georgia Department of Agriculture The Georgia Department of Agriculture administers a variety of programs which all have a primary goal - to maintain the state's viable farm industry and protect the consuming public.

Georgia Farm Bureau The Georgia Farm Bureau is Georgia's largest and strongest voluntary agricultural organization with more than 300,000 member families, and serves as a voice for Georgia farmers.
