Story in Brief

Coccidiosis is a critical economic issue for the poultry industry, costing the global industry $2.4 billion annually. UGA poultry scientists evaluated the effects of L-Arginine on growth performance and intestinal health in broilers infected with Eimeria. They found that Arginine supplementation improved growth performance and gut health in broilers during Eimeria infection. This study provides potential practical strategies to minimize intestinal damage from Eimeria infection and maintain efficient production, promoting sustainable poultry production.
