Fruit Tree Sale Fundraiser

Help support the Madison County 4-H by purchasing a fruit tree today! We have several varieties to choose from with descriptions below.

You can mail the Fruit Tree Sale Order Form 2024 with your check, made out to Madison County 4-H, or you can visit our office and pay with cash, check, or card.

The order deadline is Friday, November 15th and tree pickup is Monday, November 25th, 10am-6pm.

Elberta Peach Tree

Peach—5 gallon: $23.00

Belle of Georgia

Fruit are large in size, skin has a light color with a red cheek, excellent flavor, freestone, firm; ripens mid to late season.

Contender

Fruit are medium in size, skin has a light color with a red cheek, excellent flavor, freestone, ripens in late summer and are cold hardy.

Pineapple Pear Tree

Pear—5 gallon: $23.00

Moonglow

Vigorous tree that produces good quality fruit.  Plant with Bartlett for pollination.

Bartlett

Fruit are large in size, yellowish brown in color, white flesh, very sweet, juicy, and ripen mid-season. Trees are medium in size and upright growth, making them ideal for planting in smaller areas.

Celeste Fig Tree

Fig—3 gallon: $21.00

Brown Turkey

Fruit are medium to large in size, copper color skin, amber to pink color flesh, great flavor, a closed eye and very few seeds. Plants are prolific, often producing fruit twice a year.

Celeste

Fruit are small to medium in size, light brown to violet skin, whitish pink flesh. Plants produce early in summer.

Triple Crown Blackberries

Blackberries—1 gallon: $11.00

Kiowa

A great self-pollinating Blackberry plant; firm berries are 3 inches long with exceptional flavor; fruiting starts in June and continues for 6 weeks.

Triple Crown

Fruits ripen to a juicy sweet flavor. The plant is semi-erect and thornless and bears large, flavorful fruit. Strong canes can support many pounds of fruit without trellising.  Ripens for about one month from end of July through August.

Tropical looking; dark purple-black berries known for being high in nutrients and antioxidants; excellent for making juice, jams, and jellies.

Pink Lady Apple Tree

Apple—5 gallon: $23.00

Robinson Crabapple

A deciduous tree whose crimson buds open to beautiful red-pink flowers in early spring. Serves as a beautiful landscape/fruit tree. Fruit appears in late September.

Honey Crisp

Fruit are medium to large in size, golden skin with red striping, white flesh, crisp, honey-sweet and tart flavor. Excellent quality apple. Good for fresh eating, baking and applesauce. Ripens mid-September to October.

Fuji

Fruit are medium in size, yellowish green with red tint skin, white flesh, very crisp, juicy and ripens mid-season.

Yellow Delicious

Large tapered fruit with golden yellow skin sometimes with a reddish rose blush. Crisp white flesh with sweet flavor. Self-fruitful. Excellent pollinator for other apples. Good disease resistant. It is good for pies, applesauce, and preserves.

Red Delicious

Fruit are large in size with dark red skin, crisp, juicy and ripen med-season. Trees produce high yields and are blight resistant.

Brightwell Blueberry Bush

Blueberries—1 gallon: $11.00 | 3 gallon: $21.00

1 Gallon Options

Premier

Ripens early to mid-season, usually earlier than other mid-season varieties. Fruit are larger in size with excellent color & great flavor. Suggested pollinator: Brightwell.

Powderblue

Ripens mid-season. Berries are very light blue in color, medium in size with good firmness and flavor. Suggested pollinators: Brightwell and Tifblue.

Pink Lemonade

Sweet fruit that is bright pink when ripe. Bushes have pink-white flowers in spring, pink fruit in late summer, and orange-red leaves in fall. Self-pollinating.

Baldwin

Ripens early July to early August.  Fruit are large, and very dark blue with good stem scar.  Suggested pollinators: Brightwell

 

3 Gallon Options

Climax

A 1974 University of Georgia release, Climax has an upright, open growth habit and intense green foliage. An early season variety with a very concentrated ripening period makes Climax a great choice for home freezing. It has medium size berries that are light medium-blue, with an excellent, "spicy-sweet" flavor.

Tifblue

Ripens mid to late season. Fruit are medium size with good flavor and an average stem scar. One of the oldest cultivars still being planted, released in 1955 by UGA. Suggested pollinators: Brightwell and Powderblue.

Pink Lemonade

Sweet fruit that is bright pink when ripe. Bushes have pink-white flowers in spring, pink fruit in late summer, and orange-red leaves in fall. Self-pollinating.

Noble Muscadines

Muscadine—1 gallon: $11.00

Alachua

Purple/black; self-fertile, disease-resistant variety; up to 50 feet tall and 20 feet wide.

Noble

Almost black; self-pollinating, heat tolerant variety produces large clusters of disease resistant muscadine grapes.

Dwarf Pomegranate Tree

Pomegranate—3 gallon: $21.00

Parfianka

Fruit is large and highly colored in beautiful bright red and can be grown in the cooler regions of the United States. Great for juicing or fresh eating. Produces heavy crop at a young age; self-fruitful.

Pawenee Pecan

Pecan—5 gallon: $42.00

Avalon

Grown for its large, quality nuts (46 nuts per pound) and its resistance to scab; harvest mid-season.

Lakota

High-quality nuts shell easily into halves, early maturing variety; develops a strong, wind-resistant structure; disease-resistant to pecan scab; ripens in mid to late October; best pollinators are Pawnee or Desirable.

Goji Berry

Goji Berry—1 gallon: $11.00

Lycium Barbarum Goji Berry

Bright orange-red berries ranging ½ to 1 inch long. Berries have slight sweet and mildly tangy flavor; can be eaten fresh, made into juice, or dried and enjoyed as a snack like raisins. Has no known pest or disease problems.

Sunbelt Grape

Bunch Grapes—1 gallon: $11.00

Sunbelt

Fruit are large in size, small clusters, blue color, sweet, and ripens early to mid-season. Very similar to Concord but ripens more evenly and has better resistance to mildews.

Mars

Fruit grow well in hot summers. One of the most disease resistant bunch grapes available. Flavor is similar to Concord and very sweet.
