Horse Quiz Bowl
In this competition, students strengthen their communication and leadership skills as they contribute to the team effort and demonstrate their knowledge of equine-related subject matter in a competitive setting. Participants compete with their team to answer questions on anatomy, conformation, feed and nutrition in a double-elimination style match.
Cotton Boll & Consumer Judging
This is a competitive judging contest where 4-H'ers learn about cotton as an agriculture commodity in our state as well as to promote cotton through commercials or advertisements.
Livestock Judging
- Learn the skills needed to identify types and grades of livestock and basic principles of animal science
- Be able to identify breeds and classes of livestock in order to help improve livestock on the farm
- Improve on skills needed to made individual decisions
- Develop leadership abilities and build character
Horse Judging / Hippology
Hippology and Horse Judging competitions promote horse knowledge and help develop confidence and communication skills. Through Horse Judging, 4-H'ers gain knowledge and skills by evaluating halter and performance events. 4-H'ers then have the opportunity to defend their placings in selected classes with reasons and questions classes. In addition to horse evaluation, students that participate in Hippology gain knowledge of equine skills, equipment and equine husbandry.

Wildlife Judging
Wildlife Judging gives 4-H'ers an appreciation for wildlife and challenges them to manage wildlife habitat and preserve this valuable resource. Competitions are held at the county, district, state and national levels.
