2024 Season Information
Fresh on DeK 2024 Site Applications
DeKalb County Cooperative Extension is pleased to open the application period for the 2024 Fresh on DeK Season. Our mission is to raise awareness about the importance of fruit and vegetable consumption of healthy living and increase access by selling fresh, affordable produce.
If your community is interested in hosting a stop and the location is in DeKalb County, Georgia, please let us know by completing the application below.
Please complete the below application fully, as incomplete applications cannot be processed.
Submissions will be accepted through January 26, 2024.
The 2024 Season will run for a total of 16 weeks from May 6, 2024 - August 29, 2024. We will have two, 8-week long sessions.
Session A will run for 8 weeks, from May 6 - June 28. Session B will run for 8 weeks, from July 8 - August 29.
Application Requirements
- Sites must be in a food desert, which is defined by Fresh on DeK as a location that is not within 1 mile of a large grocery store.
- Ensure a large enough street level parking site for a 30 ft. mobile unit AND market setup that is visible to the community and easy for customers to see and park without hazard.
- The organization or program should have enough clients, community constituency and provide marketing, communication, and logistical assistance.
- The Site Liaison is key to the success of the Fresh on DeK site. Identify a person to serve as the Fresh on DeK Site Liaison. The Site Liaison will be responsible for coordination, marketing, and logistical management of their respective site. Site Liaison must also be available for an application review meeting during the month of February as part of the application process, and a 1 hour training and information session for Fresh on DeK in April. Site Liaison will also be responsible for managing provided marketing materials, including signs and banners, and promotion of the market stops throughout the season.
Please note that failure to meet any of the above requirements can result the application being voided.
