Honey Bee Removal Certification

The Georgia Structural Pest Control Commission (SPCC) passed a new licensing rule for individuals wishing to remove honey bees from structures. This license requirement is being referred to as HBR (Honey Bee Control and Removal).

To obtain an HBR license, individuals must attend a SPCC approved 8-hour training outlining certain principles of removing honey bees from structures. Training does not need to be completed in one day.

Persons seeking the Certificate MUST come to a county extension office to watch the recording. Upon completion (over one or more days), the ANR Agent will sign the attached Certificate of Completion and provide it to the potential licensee. This person will retain the Certificate as proof of having completed this requirement. It will be required to be included in their HBR Certification Application.

Cost is $40 per person.

For a complete list of requirements, please open the HBR Certification Application.

Training will be offered in office on the third Tuesday of each month between 9a-5p (no appointment needed) or other days and times by appointment. Group trainings can also be scheduled.
