Fifth Grade 4-H

5th Grade 4-H Clubs: 4-H Journey Starts Here

The 5th Grade 4-H Club experience is where many students take their first big step into leadership, public speaking, and school pride. While having fun, these clubs are in-school-based and designed to help students grow confidence, responsibility, a sense of belonging, and learning while doing. Our club curriculum goes hand in hand with educational standards.

Where We Meet

5th Grade 4-H Clubs are offered at the following schools and settings:

  • OCES

  • DCES

  • MBES

  • WCA

  • HSES

  • CFES

  • RBES

  • Homeschool

Meeting Schedule

Clubs meet during the school year in:
September, October, November, January, February, March, and April

Leadership in Action

Leadership truly begins in 5th grade 4-H! Each club elects officers who play an active role during meetings:

  • President

  • Vice President

  • Class Representative

Officers help lead meetings, build teamwork skills, and learn what it means to serve their peers, setting the stage for future leadership roles in 4-H and beyond.

Club of the Month

A little friendly competition goes a long way!
Clubs earn points throughout the year toward Club of the Month, which is recognized with:

  • A traveling trophy

  • Bragging rights

  • Plenty of good old-fashioned school spirit and pride

School Project Achievement (SPA Days)

One of the highlights of the 5th Grade 4-H experience is School Project Achievement (SPA) Day. During SPA Days, students present speeches at their school, building confidence and public speaking skills in a supportive environment.

We are grateful for the opportunity to visit 5th grade classrooms and deliver meaningful 4-H content that supports communication, leadership, and personal growth.

📊 By the numbers (2026):

  • 638 5th graders participated

  • 11+ volunteers served as judges

  • Supported by 3 dedicated 4-H faculty and staff members
