4-H In The Classroom - In School Clubs

The Douglas County 4-H program provides in classroom support to 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grade students, per the Lead Grade Teacher's request. 4-H'ers participate in hands-on learning activities in science, health, agriculture and citizenship, in a positive environment where they receive guidance from adult mentors and are encouraged to take on proactive leadership roles. Our supplemental hands-on curriculum meet the requirements of the Georgia Standard of Excellence and relate to the following topic areas:

  • Leadership Development
  • English Language Arts
  • Public Speaking
  • General Science
  • S.T.E.A.M. education
  • Formal & Persuasive Writing using Figurative Language
  • Scientific & Engineering Methods 
  • Agriculture Literature
