Conducted in Tifton and Calhoun, the Bull Evaluation and HERD Programs allow producers to consign heifers and bulls to serve and educate the beef industry in Georgia. The program demonstrates individual performance differences in a uniform environment, provides breeders with a sound scientific basis for animal selection, and serves as an educational demonstration of the value of records of performance. The programs are sponsored by the Georgia Cattlemen's Association, the UGA Diagnostic Lab and College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Georgia Animal & Dairy Science Department, Coastal Plain Experiment Station, the NW Georgia Research & Education Center, and Georgia County Extension Agents.
