Cobb Upcoming Special Events:

Front Door Produce Fundraiser:

Enjoy Front Door Produce fresh from the farm! Our exclusive Green Box fundraiser featuring a delightful assortment of locally grown seasonal vegetables sourced from Moultrie, Georgia. Each box is brimming with a colorful array of bell peppers, cucumbers, squash, zucchini, green beans, corn, cabbage, and satsuma. Our online form for orders will be open between October 28 and November 14, 2024. Click here to order produce and contribute to a great cause.

Your 20-pound box of produce will be delivered to the Cobb County Extension office located at 678 South Cobb Drive Suite 200 Marietta, GA 30060. It will be available for pick-up on November 19th. Our community has decided to offer the option to donate a box of produce to vulnerable individuals. These donated boxes will be distributed by the County Extension Office during the same week.

2024-2025 Cobb 4-H Club and Activity Registration:

If you missed the 4-H Open House, see the list of clubs available for the year below. Online registration for all clubs and judging teams has officially closed.  To register for clubs please contact the Cobb County Extension office and ask to speak to a 4-H staff member.   Some clubs/activities have limited spaces! See the linked flyers here from Open House highlighting our respective clubs with meeting dates. If you were unable to make it to Open House last night, you must enroll your child(ren) in 4-H and complete and submit the attached Medical Information and Release form prior to registering . Students that do not have a 4-H online enrollment record and Medical Information and Release form will not be eligible for club registration. See the 4-H online enrollment and registration steps below.

County Council

4-H’ers 4th-12th grade meet once a month to enjoy peer led activities and community service. Officers plan and lead each club meeting. This is also a great way to learn about upcoming local, district, and state events and competitions. Activities that we have done for County Council include a luggage collection for foster children, decorating lunch bags for MUST Ministries, international night, talent shows, costume contests, and much more! Meetings are 6:30-8pm on September 3, October 1, November 5, December 3, January 7, February 4, March 4, April 1, and May 6 at the Extension Office. 4-H C.H.E.F.

4-H C.H.E.F. stands for “Cobb Helping Every Family”. The 4-H C.H.E.F. program will meet once a month on a Monday evening at the Extension Office to prepare a meal for a local family in need. This is open to 4th-12th graders. To ensure that we are following proper food safety protocol, any 4-H’er that is interested in attending a monthly 4-H CHEF cooking program must complate a mandatory online Food Safety Handlers video and test. We will host a Fall 4-H C.H.E.F program and a Spring 4-H C.H.E.F. program.  4-H’ers will sign up for a semester to help.  We are limited to 10 4-H'ers each semester due to space.  Contact Chloe Patterson at chloe.patterson1@uga.edu for more information.

Cultured Ag Club

Are you interested in gardening, animals, and learning more about agriculture engineering in Cobb County? Join the Cultured Ag Club sponsored by UGA Extension and Cultured Ag! Meetings are open to Cobb youth in 4th-12th grade. Meetings are held once a month on  at the Cobb County Extension Office located at 678 South Cobb Drive Marietta, GA 30060 from 6:00pm-7:30pm. Archery Team

The Cobb County 4-H Archery team will enter its seventh season during the 2023-2024 school year. 4th-12th grade students are eligible to compete with the archery team. The team members are also members of Kennesaw Archery Club (KAC). Archers shoot compound or recurve bows depending on preference. The team will compete at various tournaments and competitions. Shotgun Team

The Cobb County 4-H Shotgun Team is open to 6th-12th grade youth. The team shoots trap and skeet and sporting clays. The season will start in early 2024. The team will compete at two competitions during the season culminating with the state competition in Savannah the last weekend of May. Any youth that are interested in joining the team for the 2024-2025 school year, email Chloe Patterson at chloe.patterson1@uga.edu or stop by the shotgun table at the 4-H Open House on August 8th to meet with Coach Jeff.

 

4-H Medical Club

The 4-H Medical Club is a one of a kind 4-H club led by Cobb 4-H'er Phebe Burroughs-Thebault and volunteer leader Suzi Burroughs-Thebault. This club is a hands on club where students can learn more about the health, safety, and the medical field including first aid, emergency preparedness, home safety, and much more!  This club is for 6th-12th graders. Cooking Club

Do you like cooking or would like to learn how to cook from scratch? Join our 4-H Cooking Club for the Fall 2024 semester or the Spring 2025 semester. This club is open to 4th-12th grade students. Club meetings are once a month from 6:00pm-8:00pm at the Extension Office.The cost is $30 per semester. Space is limited. Horse and Pony Club

The Cobb County 4-H Horse and Pony Club is looking for new members! You do not have to own a horse or a pony to be a member of this club. Open to 4th-12th grade students. Meetings are held monthly from 6:30pm-8:00pm at the Extension Office located at 678 South Cobb Drive Marietta, GA 30060. Club dues are $30 for the year. Contact Beverly Miller-Krohn at beverly.krohn@cobbcounty.org for more information on the Horse and Pony Club. 2024-2025 Club dates: September 10, October 15, November 12, December 17, January 14, February 11, March 11, April 15, May 13. 

 

Cloverbuds

Want to join 4-H but think you're too young to join? Join our pre-4-H Cloverbuds Club for K-3rd grade students. Meetings are held once a month on Wednesdays. There will be TWO Cloverbuds Clubs, a homeschool club that meets during the day from 10:00am-11:00am and a general 4-H Cloverbuds Club that meets in the evenings from 6:00pm-7:00pm. Both clubs meet on the same day in person at the Cobb County Extension office. Space is limited.  $20 registration fee for the year. 2024-2025 club dates: September 11, October 9, November 13, December 11, January 15, February 12, March 12, April 12, May 14.
