MaryBeth Hornbeck 
Rockdale County's Family and Consumer Sciences Agent

In this role, her aim is to help local citizens lead healthy and balanced lives by linking them with reliable information from the University of Georgia. MaryBeth especially enjoys looking for new ways to make vegetables more delicious and appealing to everyone. She is excited to serve Rockdale County and looks forward to encouraging healthy living not only through food choices but also through the development of healthy lifestyle habits.

As an expert in food science and food safety, MaryBeth holds a master's degree in food science and technology from the University of Georgia and a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. With extensive training in science, she has learned to apply her problem solving skills in ways that couple well with her goal of helping and serving people.  As a Family and Consumer Sciences Agent, she is prepared to lead classes on foods and nutrition, families, housing and environment, finances, and chronic disease prevention.
