Pike County 4-H is free to join and open to all youth from fourth through twelfth grade who live in Pike County. You can become a member at any time during the year. 4-H does not charge dues or require uniforms. However, there are fees associated with certain events and programs.

The Georgia 4-H Horse Program offers opportunities for youth to become involved in the care, health, equipment, and showing of horses. Projects and competitions allow for participation with or without a horse and focus on developing horse knowledge, skills, and safety.

You do not have to own a horse to participate.

GEORGIA 4-H STATE HORSE SHOW

Must be a 4-H member of our Pike Equestrian Team to participate

Rules and entry forms for the State 4-H Horse Show can be obtained from your local county Extension office.

To be eligible to compete in the 2025 State 4-H Horse Show:

  • Own or lease a 4-H project horse by March 1, 2025.
  • Your county agent must complete online Intent to Show forms by March 8, 2025.
  • Be an active, enrolled 4-Her in the county you live in or go to school in.

4-H Project Achievement

4-H’ers pick a project area of interest, research a specific topic, write a presentation, and present it to a judging panel. Beginning in the 7th-grade competition process, youth are expected to produce lengthier presentations and submit a portfolio for written work.

Poultry Judging:

Poultry Judging teaches 4-Her's how to judge live hens, grade eggs, grade ready-to-cook poultry, and identify poultry parts. It also provides Experience in organizing thoughts and defending decisions with oral reason. Poultry Judging is open to all 4th through 12 graders

Pike Homeschool Club


PIKE COUNTY 4-H HOMESCHOOL CLUBYOU ARE INVITED TO OUR MONTHLY HOMESCHOOL CLUB MEETINGS.

Pike County -H Homeschool Club

You are invited to join our 4-H Homeschool Club! We are set to focus on pollinators throughout the homeschool program this year.  We will cover topics such as what pollinators are, the roles of the honey bee, native bee hotel creation, and much more.

Cotton Boll & Consumer Judging


Cotton Boll and Consumer Judging is a competitive judging contest where 4-H’ers learn about cotton as an agricultural commodity in our state as well as promote cotton through commercials or advertisements. 

2024 Date: Thursday, November 7 in Perry at the Georgia National Fairgrounds

Pike County Safe Sports Program

 


4-H Safe Sports Archery Team4-H Safe Sports Archery Team

Georgia 4-H Safe uses shooting sports to teach many valuable life skills. Project SAFE (Shooting Awareness, Fun, and Education) provides youth a place to develop a sense of belonging, learn teamwork in a safe environment, and increase concentration skills. Trained volunteers lead clubs in BB, Air Rifle, Air Pistol, 22 Rifle, Shotgun, and Archery.

If you want to discover if our Archery Program is right for your child or teen, visit one of the practice sessions. Practice takes place every Saturday from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm except for school holidays and inclement weather. New members are always welcome!

Our practice location is near the Pike County Parks & Recreation Department in Williamson. The address for our 4-H SAFE Sport location is 396 Twin Oaks Road, you will turn down a gravel road to the practice field.
