Georgia 4-H Watermelon Growing Contest


Contest Rules and Deadline

1. All 4-H’ers (Kindergarten through 12th grade) are eligible to compete.

2. All weights must be submitted by Friday, July 26, 2024. Your watermelon’s weight must be verified
and weighed at your local Extension Office. Contact Harris County Extension Office for assistance with
submitting your watermelon.

3. Each 4-H’er may submit one watermelon for the competition.

4. Pictures are required for the top three state awards.

ABOUT THE CONTEST


This contest is open to all 4-H'ers, kindergarten through 12th grade, and only one submission is allowed per 4-H'er. 

All entries must be submitted in Event Registration by Monday, October 21, 2024. This year’s results will be announced on Friday, October 25, 2024, just before National Pumpkin Day.

Birthday Card Contest Rules

1. All entries must be the student’s original drawing on an 8.5 x 5.5 inch (or 5.5 x 8.5 inch) sheet of white, unlined paper.
2. Entries must be completely original. The winning entry will go through a verification process to ensure originality.
3. All entries should somehow include 4-H in the theme for the message or design.
4. All entries must be colorful, so they can be reproduced on the card.
5. Each entry must be accompanied by an official entry form filled out by the 4-H’er and signed by the county 4-H staff member. Digital signatures accepted.
6. All active 4-H members are eligible to participate.
7. Hard copy entries must be postmarked no later than the deadline and mailed to the Georgia 4-H Foundation

7. Scanned color copies of the original drawing and entry form can be sent via email to 4hfndtn@uga.edu (subject line: 2024 Birthday Card Contest) by the deadline. Note: These entries must still be the hand-drawn entry. No digitally created entries will be accepted.
8. The entry may be disqualified if any of the above rules are not followed.
9. Georgia 4-H reserves the right to modify the entry.
