Master Gardener Program
Do you have an interest in horticulture and enjoy giving back to your community?
Habersham County Extension Office will host the Master Gardener Program beginning March through May. Classes begin at 8:30 each Tuesday and end at 2:30 with an hour for lunch. The cost of the program is $125 per person, which includes all fees, your handbooks, and name tag. Fees are due by Jan 24, 2020. Click HERE for the application and HERE for the required volunteer packet. If you have any questions call 706-754-0250 or email us at email@example.com.
Master Gardener Extension Volunteers bring the latest horticultural information and practices from the world of scientific research to their communities' landscapes and gardens. Through this program, individuals are trained and certified in horticulture and related areas. These individuals, in turn, volunteer their expertise and services, under the direction of their County Extension Agent, to assist others through horticultural projects that benefit the community. 50 hours are required within the first year, 25 thereafter.
Our purpose for the class is to recruit volunteers for the Headwaters Master Gardener Chapter. This group is made up of volunteers from Habersham, Rabun and White Counties. Volunteers will assist with a variety of community service projects during the course of the year. Remember in order to become a Georgia Master Gardener Volunteer you must complete a total of 50 years during the first years and then 25 each year thereafter. Again, ALL participants must complete the UGA Background Investigation volunteer screening process to participate.
If you would like to be added to our list of interested folks, please submit the Master Gardener interest form or contact our office.
