Livestock Programs
The Georgia 4-H Livestock Program offers extraordinary educational opportunities for youth ages 9 to 18. 4-Her's involved in the livestock program are challenged with real-life issues as they learn responsibility through raising, showing and judging livestock. Livestock projects give students the opportunity to practice and acquire new knowledge in the fields of animal science, business, time management and leadership. Other animal science projects explore the care of companion and specialty animal feeding, handling, grooming, training, and veterinary care, and address wildlife and marine science animals. Charlton County 4-H livestock programs include horse, beef, swine and goat projects.
CHARLTON HORSE CLUB
4-H'ers (whether they are a horse owner or not) can come to the Extension Office monthly for a meeting to learn about horses and horse care. The students take the bus from their school and parents pick up at 4:30 pm. Students can use their knowledge to help them with either their DPA Projects and/or participation in local and State Horse Shows.
STATE 4-H HORSE SHOW
