Home

Charlton County is a rural community in Southeast Georgia with a population of 13,040. The county is well known for its strong timber industry, with local timber businesses playing a major role in the local economy. In fact, 57.67% of the county’s land is covered in timber. While timber is the primary agricultural commodity, this focus has led to limited awareness of other agricultural products and industries.

UGA Cooperative Extension Brantley County extends lifelong learning to our citizens through unbiased, research-based education in agriculture, the environment, communities, youth and families. UGA Extension helps Georgians become healthier, more productive, financially independent and environmentally responsible. Extension agents stay in touch with issues relevant to the people in their local communities.

Mission

Our mission is to assist youth in acquiring knowledge, developing life skills and forming attitudes that will enable them to become self-directing, productive and contributing citizens.
