Toss out traditional resolutions this year with Rockdale Extension. Walk-A-Weigh is a weight control program developed by Georgia Cooperative Extension State Specialists. The program is designed to help participants lose weight slowly, improve physical fitness, and maintain a weight that is healthy for you. Rock22in22 is our version of this program.

Rock22in22 is a daily movement challenge that encourages participants to move for 22 minutes. While we hope participants move for 22 minutes each day, your goal is at least 22 days each month. The 22nd day of the month is Double Jeopardy - you move for 22 minutes twice for a total of 44 minutes.

Participants can join us on Facebook to connect with others through this journey, participate in challenges, and learn healthy lifestyle tips. On Monday, our team will share healthy recipes. On Wednesday, we will either have lessons on nutrition and physical activity or locations of places around Rockdale County for walking. We will have weekly check ins each Friday with a question of the week. Materials will be emailed for anyone not interested in the social media group.

Rock22in22 boosts success through social support, self-motivation, accountability strategies, and establishment of personal goals so participants can take small steps toward self-efficacy. Awards given to participants who meet the goal each day, have the highest daily average, and most monthly minutes. Prizes will also be available throughout the challenge.

Registration opens Dec 10, 2021

The program runs from Jan 1, 2022 - April 1, 2022.

You can choose to participate for one, two, or three months!

Community is created through interpersonal connection, so invite a friend, register family members, and be open to meeting new people through the program.
