Who can participate?

Any youth residing in or attending school in Georgia in 4th-12th grades may join.

  • 4-H’ers compete as members of 4-H in the county where s/he attends school or lives full-time (referred to as home county).
  • IF 4-H'ers home county does not offer a specific shooting sport (archery, BB, Shotgun, etc.) the 4-H'er may be eligible for dual enrollment in their home county and the county that offers the specific sport in which they want to participate. A request for a dual enrollment must be submitted. Contact both counties for more details.

Where and when does the Morgan County Archery Team meet?

The Morgan County 4-H Archery Team Season begins in early November each year.

  • Orientation and registration meetings are usually held in October.
  • During the season every Sunday from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. for 4-6th grades and 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. for 7-12 grades at the Morgan County Archery Range on Lion's Club Road in Madison (Behind the Morgan County Safety Complex on Monticello Road). There are occasional extra practice times set-up during the week or two prior to a completion.

How much does it cost?

Registration is $75.00 dollars which includes all Team events and Team shirt.

What about parents?

Parents are an important part of Morgan County 4-H Archery activities and are always welcome. We also strongly encourage parents to consider becoming a 4-H Volunteer. Please call our office, Morgan County Cooperative Extension, (706) 342-2214 for more information about becoming a volunteer.

This Team is on hold at this time due to the need for a Head Coach.  If you are interested, please contact our office at the above number.

Orientation Meeting: January 7, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.

Orientation Location: 440 Hancock Street. Madison, GA 30650

Practices:  Every Sunday at 2:00 p.m.

Fees: Have not been set for this season at this time.  In the past fees were:

  • Returning team member: $100.00 (includes all targets, BB's, team shirt and competition fees for the practice match, qualifier and state match).
  • New team member: $200.00 (includes new Daisy 499 BB rifle, all targets, BB's and competition fees for the practice match, team shirt, and state match fees).

4-H SAFE Shotgun Team Starting Date:  January 22, 2023  at 2:00 p.m. Please meet at the Morgan County Extension Office, 440 Hancock Street, Madison GA 30650

Fees: Includes purchase and maintenance of throwers, clay targets and competition event fees. Due by 2nd practice.

Equipment: Shotgun and case, ammunition (2 complete boxes of shells per practice session), safety glasses, and hearing protection (i.e., earplugs or earphones).
