The Gilmer County UGA Extension office is open, and receiving clients in the foyer area, as well as Test Kit Drop Off/Pick Up Monday thru Friday from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon (closed for lunch) then 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at 1123 Progress Road in Ellijay, Georgia. Our staff includes a full time FACS Agent, ANR Agent, 4-H Agent, SNAP-Ed Program Assistant, 4-H AmeriCorps Member and Administrative Assistant. The office in Gilmer County has active Master Gardener Extension Volunteers, offers gauge testing for canners, information on the local cannery, summer Farmers Market, November Christmas market, assistance with Pesticide Licenses and GATE Cards, Radon testing both in the air and well water, as well as Soil, Water, Litter, Plant, and Feed & Forage testing, has 4-H Club meetings, camp, teams and competitions, plus educational activities, classes and workshops in all three program areas.
