Pickleball for Wellness

Cost: Free
Pickleball for Wellness is a fun, beginner-friendly program that combines physical activity, social connection, and simple wellness education. Participants will learn and practice pickleball skills, play games at a comfortable pace, and receive weekly tips for improving overall health. No experience is necessary, and equipment is provided (but you are welcome to bring your own paddle if you have one) —just come ready to move, learn, and have fun!

FACS Lunchtime Yoga
When: Every Monday and Friday at 12:30pm
Where: Elbert County Extension Office, 1190 Athens Tech Road, Elberton, GA
Cost: $10 per class
FACS Lunchtime Yoga offers a relaxing midday break for all experience levels. Local instructors will guide you through gentle stretches, breathing exercises, and beginner-friendly yoga poses designed to improve flexibility, balance, and overall well-being. Yoga mats are provided, or you may bring your own.

FACS Fitness

FACS Fitness is a welcoming, beginner-friendly class designed to help you move more, build strength, and improve your overall fitness. Each class features simple, adaptable exercises that allow you to work at your own pace. No experience is necessary—just come ready to move, have fun, and feel great!

Theme Night Yoga
When: Thursday, September 17 at 5:30pm
Where: Elbert County Extension Office, 1190 Athens Tech Road, Elberton, GA
Cost: $10
Theme Night Yoga puts a fun twist on a traditional yoga class! September’s Rock & Roll Yoga will feature an energetic playlist as you move through beginner-friendly poses, stretches, and breathing exercises. All experience levels are welcome, and yoga mats are provided—or bring your own. Rock-inspired attire is encouraged but not required!

Green Cleaning Workshop
When: September 21 at 5:30pm
Where: Elbert County Extension Office, 1190 Athens Tech Road, Elberton, GA
Cost: $10
The Green Cleaning Workshop explores simple ways to create a healthier home while saving money and reducing environmental impact. Participants will learn how to select safer cleaning products, understand common ingredients, recognize misleading “green” claims, and use homemade cleaners safely. The workshop also includes a make-and-take activity where you’ll create your own room spray to take home!

Couch to 5K Training
When: Tuesdays for 8 weeks, beginning September 1 at 5:30pm
Where: Sutton Park, starting at the Rotary Pavilion
Cost: Free
The 8-week Couch to 5K program will help you gradually build the endurance and confidence to complete the Field to Fiber 5K. Designed for beginners, the program uses walking and running intervals that progress at a comfortable pace. We’ll train together once each week, and participants will be expected to complete two additional workouts each week on their own time. Whether you plan to run, walk, or do a little of both, we’ll help you get ready to cross the finish line!

Field to Fiber 5K
When: October 24 at 9:00am
Where: Welcome Church Road, Elberton, GA
Cost: $30
The Field to Fiber 5K celebrates fitness, community, and Georgia agriculture along a beautiful, flat country course that runs past cotton fields. This chip-timed race welcomes runners and walkers of all experience levels, whether you’re chasing a personal best or completing your first 5K. Participants will receive a Georgia-made cotton race shirt featuring Georgia-grown cotton and a unique finisher medal!

Pickleball Tournament: Hard Courts, Soft Conversations
When: November 14, 2026 starting at 9am
Where: McWilliams Park, 1040 Mobley Hill Road, Elberton, GA
The Hard Courts, Soft Conversations Pickleball Tournament brings players together for a fun day of competition, connection, and community. Featuring men’s, women’s, and mixed doubles divisions all divided by skill level and age groups, the tournament welcomes players ready to enjoy great matches while raising awareness about farmer mental health. Proceeds will support Extension programming and organizations serving the mental health needs of farmers.
