Whether you're a first-time rider or have some experience in the saddle, this lesson will be a fun-filled adventure as you learn the basics of horseback riding, horse care, and safety in a beautiful farm setting. Location: Foundation Farms Time: 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM Get ready to meet the horses, learn to mount and steer, practice balance, and enjoy the thrill of riding with skilled instructors guiding you every step of the way! What to Bring: Closed-toe shoes with a small heel (no sandals or sneakers) Long pants for comfort and safety A water bottle to stay hydrated A great attitude and a love for horses! This hands-on experience is a perfect way to build confidence, develop riding skills, and connect with these amazing animals.   • Feb 25 4-H Day at The Capitol I am excited to invite your 4-H'er(s) to an upcoming event for our 4-H'ers. On February 25, 2025, we will celebrate 4-H Day at the Capitol. This event provides a unique opportunity for students and 4-H'ers from across Georgia to gather at the Georgia State Capitol Building to connect with and show their appreciation for our legislators. This experience allows students to: Witness government in action, Engage in civic activities, Learn about the state legislature and the importance of the voting process. Students will receive an official letter excusing their absence from school to participate in this educational opportunity. We encourage 4-H'ers in grades 7-12 to attend and take advantage of this inspiring experience to deepen their understanding of government and civic engagement.

  • Feb 25 4-H Day at The Capitol We are excited to invite Clayton County 4-H youth to attend Georgia 4-H Day at the Capitol on February 26. This annual event provides 4-H members with a hands-on experience of the state legislative process during the General Assembly session. Participants will have the opportunity to meet their elected officials, observe leadership in action, and deepen their understanding of civic engagement and government. The day also includes a special luncheon recognizing 4-H’ers who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and civic involvement. Georgia 4-H Day at the Capitol is supported through partnerships with organizations such as Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation and the Georgia 4-H Foundation, reflecting Georgia 4-H’s commitment to developing informed, engaged young leaders. This is a wonderful opportunity for youth to learn, lead, and represent Clayton County 4-H. School excuses will be provided for all participants.
