Journeyman Farmer Certification Program

Carroll and Paulding County Extension offices present the Journeyman Farmer Certification Program-  Developing the next generation of sustainable farmers in Georgia.

 

Two-part Certification Program:

Part 1:  Small Business Course, $25, March 9 2026, 9am until 5pm

Business topics include: lessons learned from successful small farms, market feasibility, balance sheets, understanding income statements, risk management, marketing and technology, as well as preparing a business plan.

 

Part 2:  Production Course, $75, Mondays, March 16-30, 9am until 4pm

Small fruit/vegetable training provides topics including soil health and fertility, soil amendments, fertilizers, crop rotations, cover crop selection, equipment, post-harvest handling, and marketing.
