District Project Achievement
Project Achievement is one of the most prominent 4-H competitions. It helps 4-H'ers develop both oral and written communication skills while giving them the opportunity to investigate or research a topic of their interest. Read more about DPA here.
Cloverleaf Project Achievement (4th-6th Grades)
Atkinson County competes in Cloverleaf DPA every March. Presentations over a subject of interest to the 4-H member are given to a panel of judges (usually 2) with the help of visual aids. Presentations can be no longer than 6 minutes. Cloverleaf DPA is often the first experience many members have speaking in public and it aids in building communication skills and confidence. For a full list of project areas as well as guidelines for projects you can contact the office or visit Georgia 4-H's website. Students will be allowed to sign up for DPA in January in their monthly club meetings.
JR/SR Project Achievement (7th-12th Grades)
JR/SR DPA is held in late January/Early February every year at Rock Eagle 4-H Center in Eatonton GA. Students in 7th-12th grades will compete in their chosen project area. They will have to develop a presentation that is no longer than 10 minutes for JRs (7th and 8th grade) and no longer than 12 minutes for SRs (9th-12th grade.) In addition to a presentation all JR and SR participants must assemble a portfolio that is judged prior to DPA. The scores for the portfolio and presentation are factored into the final scoring. Senior DPA participants who place 1st in their category are invited to compete on the state wide level at State Congress in July. Students interested in competeing at DPA must sign up by November each year.
