About Union County Ag
Union County’s major agricultural product is ornamental horticulture. As of the 2022 Georgia Farm Gate Value Report, Union County has approximately 19,000+ acres in farm land with a farm gate value of over $36,593,000. We also have a research farm, Georgia Mountain Research and Education Center in conjunction with the University of Georgia Extension which is a premier research site in Georgia. In addition to ornamental horticulture, Union County produces livestock, poultry, sweet sorghum, fresh vegetables, hay, sweet corn, wine grapes and soybeans.
