4-H Youth Development

4-H grows here

What is 4-H?

The mission of Georgia 4-H is to assist youth in acquiring knowledge, developing life skills, and forming attitudes that will enable them to become self-directing, productive and contributing members of society. This is accomplished through “hands-on” learning experiences, focused on agricultural and environmental issues, agriculture awareness, leadership, communication skills, food and nutrition, health, energy conservation, and citizenship.

Terrell County offers a variety of programs including in-school meetings, community service projects, after school activities, summer camp and competitive events like archery, project achievement and livestock.

Who can join 4-H? How can I join?

Any youth between 9 and 18 years of age is eligible to join 4-H. All students in the 4th and 5th grade at Carver Elementary School and Terrell Academy will join 4-H at the beginning of the school year. Youth in grades 6-12 will also be given the opportunity to join 4-H at the beginning of the school year. Home schooled and other eligible youth may contact the Terrell County 4-H office to receive enrollment information.
