May 2 Canning Strawberry Jam - Whitfield County Food Preservation Workshop Join us for a hands-on workshop on food preservation and best practices for canning at home. In this class, you'll learn how to make strawberry jam with a water-bath canner and how to plant and grow your own strawberries at home. Seating is limited. Each attendee must register separately. Wildlife Judging challenges 4-H youth to learn about native Georgia wildlife species and habitat management practices for conservation success.

May 5 ServSafe Manager Level Instruction and Exam (May 5th and May 12th) Two-Day Instruction This ServSafe Manager Level training will be split into two separate days, each day having a class time from 9:00am-5:00pm window in consideration of the recent update in ServSafe Manager curriculum with the new 9th edition. ServSafe is a training designed and offered by the National Restaurant Association to enhance the quality of service and safety within restaurant establishments. Through the use of educational resources, materials, and programs led by trained and certified instructors and proctors, ServSafe helps to cultivate and reinforce effective and safe service within those who work within and manage the food operation. The Manager's Level course will give participants instruction on food safety at all stages, facilities and pest management, along with cleaning, sanitizing, and other topics. This event will be a one day course including both instruction and exam.
