Mar 6 2026 UGA Extension Goat and Sheep Production Summit The UGA Extension Goat and Sheep Production Summit is an annual educational event for small ruminant owners. Topics covered by experts include forages, nutrition, marketing, husbandry, parasite management, and reproduction. The registration fee of $50 per participant covers lunch and all course materials. Mar 13 Equine Short Course Equine Short Course on March 13, 2026, from 8-3 pm at 427 East Atlanta Hwy, Rutledge, GA 30663. We will be discussing topics on equine nutrition, saddle fitting (western & English), weed ID, trailer safety & maintenance, and equine first aid. Lunch will be provided, but we ask that you bring a lawn chair for seating. This event is rain or shine. Attendees will receive 1 hour of pesticide credit. We want to thank Ag South, Town-n-County Farm& Pet Supply, Upper Ocumulgee Soil and Water Conservation District, Jasper County Farm Bureau, and Lawry's Feed & Farm Supply for sponsoring this event.

Mar 18 UGA Extension Henry County Category 24 Ornamental and Turf Licensing Exam Training UGA Extension Henry County is offering a program to help prepare those who are planning to take the Georgia Pesticide Applicator Licensing Exam in Category 24 Ornamental and Turf to pass it. The workshop will cover the Ornamental and Turf Section and the Core Manual (General Standards Section). We give you a couple of practice exams. The program will be held online via Zoom. The exam itself will not be offered after the class. It is offered at several technical colleges throughout the state. The cost is $45 with a check made payable to the technical college. Mar 20 Honey Bee Control and Removal Training Gwinnett County Extension is offering the Georgia Structural Pest Control Commission approved 8-hour training required to obtain a Hone Bee Control and Removal (HBR) license through one full day session.
