Apr 1 Homesteading Skills: Cut Flower Gardening Join Pike County Extension in 2026 for the Lunch and Learn series that will dive into homesteading skills. These monthly sessions are covered by experts and hosted on the first Wednesday of each month at 12pm (with the exception of holidays). Apr 2 Apple Grafting Workshop 2026 In this workshop attendees will learn the process and techniques to successfully graft apple trees. We will walk you through the process of marrying scion and rootstock. Participants will be provided with 5 semi-dwarf rootstock (G210) which will mature to a perfect sized tree (10-15') for most people to manage. Numerous scion varieties will be available to select from. Many heirloom, disease resistant and even Georgia varieties on hand which will range in ripening windows from June - November. Available varieties will range in use from drying, sauce, cooking, cider, fresh eating or a combination. Grafting knives, parafilm and labels will be available for use. By attending you will join the University of Georgia's efforts to preserve and restore these historic apple cultivars.

Alpharetta Community Agriculture Program/Old Rucker Farm, Georgia Native Plant Society North Metro Chapter and The North Fulton Master Gardeners Plant Sales will feature thousands of edible, native and ornamental plants for your home gardens. Our Marketplace Vendors include garden and nature offerings of plants, pottery, jewelry, artworks, and more. And, we round out the day with Garden Talks from Master Gardeners and other experts, our beloved Fleatique market of gently-loved donated gardenware/furniture and art, our Childrens Corner with garden crafts for kids, lite food fare, and also, music!

Apr 15 ServSafe Managers Course and Exam *Registration deadline is April 1st, 2026.* Join us for the nationally recognized ServSafe Manager Certification Course in Darien, GA. The content for this course will be delivered in one day with the online exam directly following completion of course material. Time: 8:30-5:00 PM (lunch on your own) Registration: $150 (all-inclusive) Book and materials must be picked up no later than 2 weeks prior to class date! The fee for this ServSafe® course is $150 which includes instruction, the course book, and administration of the test. Upon request the text book and online test are available in select languages other than English. In this class, you'll learn how to make strawberry jam with a water-bath canner and how to plant and grow your own strawberries at home. Seating is limited. Each attendee must register separately.
