4-H Youth Development
Welcome to the Mitchell County 4-H web page! The 4-H program deeply believes in the power of young people. We see that every child has valuable strengths and real influence to improve the world around us. 4-H strives to mentor youth and help them thrive through the development of lifelong skills such as growing confidence, resilience, compassion, learning to work well with others and face challenges. 4-H allows youth to take the driver's seat through our hands-on approach to programming all while providing guidance and encouragement to each of its member. Mitchell County 4-H looks forward to making the best better for the youth of our county and can't wait to have you as part of the program!
4-H is the Youth Education Program of the University of Georgia (UGA). 4-H programming is delivered by UGA Extension which is part of the UGA College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences (CAES). Mitchell County is a cooperating partner.
Mitchell County 4-H is open to all youth within grades 4 through 12 regardless of race, color, sex, handicap, or national origin.
There is not a fee to enroll in 4-H. However, there are some activities and special project teams that may require a fee. 4-H'ers will always have the freedom to pick which activities they would like to participate in. Some activities will have a participation limit and will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Be sure to stay up to date on all the activities and events available to our 4-H members by contacting the Mitchell County 4-H Agent, Candace Seabolt or following the Mitchell County 4-H Facebook page.
Below are some of 4-H's most broadly useful resources from the Georgia 4-H website. Please contact us for more information about participating in any of these programs through this county office.
