Agriculture in Hart County
Agriculture is Georgia’s largest industry and plays a vital role in the economy and communities in Hart County. Within Hart County, agriculture is contributing food, clothing, and shelter to meet the greater needs of our society. Agriculture also provides other benefits such as green space and aesthetics that allow residence to appreciate the beauty of rural America.
Agriculture contributes significantly to the county tax base with the lease demand for services. According to the 2022 Georgia Farm Gate Value Report, Hart County contributes over $632 million to the state economy and are ranked the 2nd county in the state for total Farm Gate Value. In addition, Hart County is the leading producer of poultry and eggs in the state, and in the top ten in hay, wheat, container nursery, field nursery, and beef cattle production while also being ranked in the top fifty in many other commodities.
