Livestock Show Team
Burke County 4-H has a very active livestock show team. We are always looking for new families to join in on the fun! If you are in the 1st-12th grades and looking to show livestock, please find the list below and contact 4-H personnel to help get you started!
Dairy Show Team - Dairy heifers are borrowed from a producer for a show season which starts in the fall. 4th - 12th graders can participate. For more information, please contact Meridith Meckel
Lamb/Ewe Show Team - Lambs are born in the spring and start showing in the summer/fall. Breeding ewes can be shown again at the State Livestock Show in the spring. 1st-12th graders can participate. For more information, please contact Meridith Meckel
Goat/Wether Show Team - Goats are born in the spring and start showing in the summer/fall. Breeding does can be shown again at the State Livestock Show in the spring. 1st-12th graders can participate. For more information, please contact Meridith Meckel
Hog Show Team - There are two show seasons for hogs (fall/spring). You will need new pigs for both seasons. To show in the spring, you must be in the 4th-12th grade. For more information, please contact Meridith Meckel
Beef Show Team - Beef heifers and steers can be shown. These animals can be borrowed or purchased from a producer. Beef animals start showing in the summer/fall and end their projects at the State Livestock Show in February. 4th - 12th grades can participate. For more information, please contact Meridith Meckel
