EFNEP / Family and Consumer Sciences

EFNEP

EFNEP is a program that helps families stretch their food dollar, eat healthier meals and snacks, and reduce the risk of foodborne illness. EFNEP is federally funded and offered nationwide. In Georgia, EFNEP is offered through the UGA Extension at the University of Georgia and Fort Valley State University.

EFNEP Food Talk Program

Food Talk is available at no charge to agencies or participants. It is a series of 8 one-hour sessions held at a mutually agreed upon time. At least 3 participants are required for a group. All of our recipes are made in an electric skillet or bowl, so kitchen facilities are not necessary. Participants receive a certificate and cookbook upon completion of 8 sessions.

Features of the program
•Easy recipes that require little advance preparation
•One-dish meals that are easy to clean up
•Quick recipes that can be made in 15 minutes or less
•Use of food that does not require refrigeration
