Pike County 4-H is free to join and open to all youth from fourth through twelfth grade who live in Pike County. You can become a member at any time during the year. 4-H does not charge dues or require uniforms. However, there are fees associated with certain events and programs.

Pike County 4-H Horse Club

You are invited to join our 4-H Horse Club Team! We are looking for new members and would love if you could join our team! You do not have to own a horse to participate.
Club meetings start in the Fall and are held on Mondays on the dates listed below. Meetings will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the 4-H Office in Zebulon.  
 
Our scheduled 4-H Horse Club meeting dates for 2023- 2024 are:

GEORGIA 4-H STATE HORSE SHOW

Must be a 4-H member of our Pike Equestrian Team to participate

Rules and entry forms for the State 4-H Horse Show can be obtained from your local county Extension office.

To be eligible to compete in the 2024 State 4-H Horse Show:

  • Own or lease a 4-H project horse by March 1, 2024.
  • Your county agent must complete online Intent to Show forms by March 8, 2024.
  • Be an active, enrolled 4-Her in the county you live in or go to school in.

SAFE Sports  

Georgia 4-H Safe uses shooting sports to teach many valuable life skills. Project SAFE (Shooting Awareness, Fun, and Education) provides youth a place to develop a sense of belonging, learn teamwork in a safe environment, and increase concentration skills. Trained volunteers lead clubs in BB, Air Rifle, Air Pistol, 22 Rifle, Shotgun, and Archery.

Cotton Boll and Consumer Judging is a competitive judging contest where 4-H’ers learn about cotton as an agricultural commodity in our state as well as promote cotton through commercials or advertisements.

The 2023 Cotton Boll and Consumer Judging Contest was held in Perry on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at the Georgia National Fair

Objectives:
• To develop leadership abilities, build character, and assume citizenship responsibilities.

• To develop skills for utilizing milk creatively in recipes.

• To acquire knowledge of the nutritional value and versatility of milk.

• To learn to write/share a recipe.

Project Achievement

Project Achievement is one of the largest and most exciting, challenging, and rewarding programs offered by Georgia 4-H. 4-H’ers choose a project area of interest, research a topic, and then write and present an oral presentation to others. For Cloverleaf 4-H’ers, students in grades 4-6, this process is about hands-on learning, self-confidence, and sharing knowledge.
