Mar 23 Garden Talk: From Dusk to Dawn: How Bats Help Your Garden Grow - Loganville 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM From Dusk to Dawn: How Bats Help Your Garden Grow Presented by Master Gardener Peggy Jones This talk will discuss the importance of bats in your garden, as well as dispelling common myths about bats. We will talk about how to create a bat-friendly garden by minimizing threats and planting native plants and night-blooming flowers. Bats are important pollinators for many plants. However, unlike fuzzy bees, colorful butterflies, and other daytime pollinators, bats show up at night and don’t get a lot of credit for their hard work. Did you know: • One bat can eat up to 1,000 insects per hour, making them vital for pest control. • Not only do bats consume mosquitos, but they also eat Japanese beetles, cutworms and army worm moths, and cucumber beetle moths.
