4-H Arts And Crafts 2026 Fair Exhibits (Children)
Eligibility
• Available to any student grades 4th –12th.
• All entries must be labeled with name, grade, and category, and county (if not Spalding).
• Exhibitors may enter up to 35 categories but may only enter one item per category.
• Earnings are Blue Ribbon:$5, Red Ribbon:$3, Yellow/White Ribbon:$1. Tri-fold may earn up to $10.
• Drop off at 1025 S Hill St. 3pm-6pm Thursday Sep. 10th. Pick-Up 3pm-6pm Tuesday Sept 22nd
General Exhibit Rules
1. All exhibits must be the original work of the 4-H member. While adult guidance, instruction, and supervision are encouraged, the 4-H member must complete the work themselves.
2. All exhibits must have been created during the current fair year, meaning they must have been completed after the conclusion of the previous year's fair.
3. Photography entries must be taken by the exhibitor. Photos may be edited by the exhibitor using standard photographic editing software. All 2D visual art entries must be mounted or framed.

Division A: Visual Arts (all items in this area must be mounted or framed)
Category Description
Drawing- Original artwork created using pencils, charcoal, ink, pastels, colored pencils, markers, or similar drawing mediums.
Painting -Original artwork created using watercolor, acrylic, oil, tempera, or other painting mediums.
Digital Art- Original artwork created using digital tools or software. Must be printed.
Photography – Animals Original photograph featuring animals as the primary subject. Photograph must be taken by the exhibitor.
Photography – People Original photograph featuring one or more people as the primary subject. Photograph must be taken by the exhibitor.
Photography – Places Original photograph featuring landscapes, buildings, nature, or scenic locations. Photograph must be taken by the exhibitor.
Photography – Things Original photograph featuring objects, still life, food, flowers, vehicles, or other non-living subjects. Photograph must be taken by the exhibitor.
Division B: Textiles, Fiber Arts, & Wearable Designs
Category Description
Sewing -Sewn textile projects including clothing, quilts, home décor, bags, pillows, and other household or personal items.
Needlecraft- Projects created using yarn, thread, or fabric techniques including knitting, crochet, cross-stitch, embroidery, needlepoint, and similar fiber arts.
Decorated Clothing- Clothing items embellished through techniques such as painting, embroidery, appliqué, vinyl, tie-dye, bleaching, or other creative methods.
Decorated Tote- Fabric bags, totes, backpacks, or similar items decorated through techniques such as painting, embroidery, appliqué, vinyl, or other creative methods.
Jewelry – Necklace Handmade necklaces created from any appropriate materials.
Jewelry – Bracelet Handmade bracelets created from any appropriate materials.
Jewelry – Other Handmade jewelry including earrings, rings, anklets, brooches, hair accessories, or jewelry.
Division C: Applied Art
Category Description
Ceramics, Mosaics & Pottery Projects- created from clay, ceramic, porcelain, or mosaic materials, including hand-built, wheel-thrown, or decorated pieces.
Sculpture -Three-dimensional artwork created from materials such as wood, stone, clay, metal, wire, or mixed media.
Division D: Crafts & Design
Category Description
Handicraft -Handmade decorative or functional items that do not fit into another specific category.
Wood Craft- Functional or decorative items made from wood, including woodworking or carving.
Outdoor Craft- Crafts designed for outdoor use or display, such as birdhouses, wind chimes, garden art.
Paper Craft- Projects created primarily from paper, including origami, scrapbook pages, greeting cards, paper flowers, quilling, journals, or paper models.
Recycled Craft- Creative projects made primarily from recycled, repurposed, or reclaimed materials.
Christmas Craft- Handmade Christmas items, including ornaments, decorations, centerpieces, stockings.
Holiday Craft- Handmade items celebrating holidays other than Christmas, including Halloween, Easter, Valentine's Day, Thanksgiving, Independence Day, or other seasonal celebrations.
Wreath- Handmade wreaths created using natural or artificial materials for any season or occasion.
Bar Soap- Handmade bar soap created by the exhibitor. Soap should be fully cured and fit for display.
Division E: Plants & Nature
Category Description
Floral Arrangement -Floral designs created using artificial flowers or preserved/dried plant materials.
Terrarium/Dish Garden -Miniature gardens or plant displays arranged in containers using live plants.
Division F: Engineering & Technology
Category Description
LEGO®/Block Building -Original structures or creations made from LEGO® or similar building blocks. Entries may not be built from a commercial kit or instruction set.
3D Print -Original 3D printed items, including decorative, functional, educational, or novelty items.
Robotics- Original robotic or programmable projects demonstrating engineering, coding, electronics, or mechanical design skills. Projects should be safe for display

Category Description
Canning – Fruit Canned fruit preserved using safe home-canning methods.
Canning – Vegetables Canned vegetables preserved using safe home-canning methods.
Canning – Pickles Canned pickled fruits or vegetables using safe home-canning methods.
