We assist individuals in making critical decisions concerning their lives, their businesses, and their communities.   • May 14 Roadside Farm Stand Webinar This virtual program will cover the first steps to getting started in the roadside farm stand business, including planning your stand, selecting a location, and deciding what products to offer. We will also discuss how your stand fits into the bigger picture of your local area and community, helping you better understand your audience and market opportunities. After that, we will dive into the food safety aspects of owning a roadside farm stand, highlighting essential practices to ensure products are handled, stored, and sold safely while meeting applicable guidelines.

  • May 16 Hall County Master Gardeners Presents the 2026 Hall County Garden Walk “In Our Own Back Yards”- Hall County Master Gardeners Garden Walk Tickets to the Saturday, May 16, Hall County Master Gardeners Garden Walk are being offered at a discount through April 30. The cost is $15 per person through April 30; after April 30, the cost goes to $20 per person. A $1 service fee will be charged for credit card purchases. Tickets may be purchased at the organization’s website: hallmastergardeners.com, or at the Hall County Extension Office. The event takes place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine. No pets, please. The self-guided tour gives access to five private residential gardens and one public garden. With the theme “In Our Own Back Yards,” it’s a chance to see what Hall County Master Gardeners have created to make their landscapes more appealing and inviting, no matter the conditions. Learn how to garden using native plants, attract pollinators, enhance a yard that’s shady, or design a garden that’s full of whimsy and art.

  • May 16 Canning Pickles - Whitfield County Food Preservation Workshop Join us for a hands-on workshop on food preservation and best practices for canning at home. In this class, you'll learn how to make pickles with a water-bath canner and how to plant and grow your own cucumbers at home. Seating is limited. Each attendee must register separately.
