Project SAFE Shooting Sports

Emanuel County 4-H Project SAFE is the overarching title given to the four different Emanuel County 4-H Project SAFE “Fun Shoot”
4-H shooting sports programs offered by the county program. Each of the programs is steered by a committee of certified volunteer coaches and the county 4-H leader that work together to charter the clubs annually, fundraise, and set schedules. To become a Certified Coach, adults must be a screened volunteer, meet annual 4-H volunteer requirements, and attend Georgia 4-H’s SAFE Coach Training that includes discipline-specific instruction as well as training on positive youth development and working with youth. benefitting the 4-H Modified Trap Program

 

Modified Trap

Modified Trap is a shotgun discipline that challenges 4-H'ers to shoot 25 clay targets thrown by an electric trap machine.

  • Youth participants must be in 6th-12th grade. 
  • Registration fee this year is $150 and includes match fees, shooter t-shirt, and all ammunition and targets for the season
  • To be eligible for participation, all youth must have completed a GA Hunter Safety Course before the first practice.
  • The registration deadline is February 28, 2025, or when a maximum of 50 students have registered (whichever comes first).

To register, print, complete, and return the forms to the Extension/4-H Office located at 129 N. Anderson Drive in Swainsboro. All the details about the season and how to register is included in the information letter.

  1. 2025 Modified Trap Enrollment Form
  2. Participant & Parent Contract (Signed form may be scanned and emailed)
  3. Completed Medical Form (Signed original is required!)
  4. Code of Conduct/Activity Consent (If you have completed this for another 4-H activity during the 2024-2025 school year, you do not need to complete another)
  5. *NEW* Transportation Form & Waiver (Must be completed by parent of any 4-H student that will be driving themselves OR riding with another 4-H member to practices/competitions. Signed original is required!)
