About 4-H
What is the mission of Georgia 4-H?
The mission of Georgia 4-H is to assist youth in acquiring knowledge, developing life skills, and forming attitudes that will enable them to become self-directing, productive, and contributing members of society. This mission is accomplished through "hands on" learning experiences focused on agricultural and environmental issues, agriculture awareness, leadership, communication skills, foods and nutrition, health, energy conservation, and citizenship.
What is 4-H?
4-H is a youth development program that seeks to build leadership skills, public speaking skills, citizenship, and community service. 4-H is exploring, discovering, encouraging, challenging, and of course having fun! 4-H is a branch of the University of Georgia and UGA Extension Emanuel County.
Who is eligible?
All youth, grades 4-12, living or going to school in Emanuel County may join 4-H.
Any person, regardless of race, color, national origin, gender, or disability may enroll as a 4-H member.
4-H does not charge dues or require uniforms. However, there are fees and dress associated with certain events and programs. Activities and events available to youth vary by grade.
Age Divisions
4-H provides programming by school grade.
Cloverbud: Youth in K through 3rd grade
Cloverleaf: Youth in 4th through 6th grade
Junior: Youth in 7th and 8th grade
Senior: Youth in 9th through 12th grade

Enrollment in 4-H must be completed annually and can be done several ways: Enroll Online, or email us to have an enrollment form sent to you that you may complete and return.
What does 4-H offer for youth in Emanuel County?
Emanuel County 4-H partners with schools, communities, and families to offer:
- In-school programming for local public, private, and homeschool programs
- Youth activities to promote leadership, citizenship, service-learning, and communication
- Summer Camp
- Shooting Sports Teams
- Youth competitions and contests
- Youth Livestock Programs
