What is UGA Extension?

UGA Extension is a county, state, and federal funded organization supported by specialists in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences and the College of Family and Consumer Sciences.

UGA Extension Pike County links resources of the University of Georgia and Pike County to provide educational programs, information, and assistance to the citizens of Pike County.

Upcoming Events with Pike County Extension

  • Sep 11 Lunch and Learn: Backyard Pecans Join Pike County Extension in 2024 dive into Homestead Skills with monthly, virtual Lunch and Learns hosted on the second Wednesday of each month (with the exception of holidays). Each month will discover a new topic with experts leading the way. Simply email Brooklyne.Wassel@uga.edu to receive the Zoom link or catch the recordings on our YouTube channel. "Backyard Pecans" will be led by UGA Extension Agent Robyn Stewart.

  • Sep 26 UGA Green University 2024 Learn the core standards of pesticide safety as well as the ins and outs of turf and ornamental horticulture with applicator Category 24 training. This course is perfect for those looking to take their pesticide exams as well as experienced applicators looking to expand their knowledge and receive pesticide credits. Choose to take the course in English or Spanish. Choose to stay for general standards day, category 24 day, or both! You can earn up to 12 Hours of CEUs for attending. Each day features class sessions in the morning and hands-on labs in the afternoon. Lunch is provided thanks to our generous sponsors: Helena and Regal.
