UGA Extension Cobb County provides trainings, programs, resources and services as the educational outreach of the University of Georgia.The Cobb County Extension offers a variety of educational programming and information to the community. We have three major areas of service and information to Cobb County and surrounding areas.
The ANR County Agent and our programs assistants in Agriculture and Natural Resources serves the community by offering landscaping, gardening, soil and water testing information to our residents.
The Master Gardeners Volunteers offers their volunteered time to assist the community as well as the office staff. Our 4-H agent creates and organizes youth educational programs including competitive events which will assist young people to develop citizenship, leadership, responsibility and life skills.
The 4-H agent and our program assistants work with youth around the county to provide positive youth development opportunities through community service, specialty clubs, conferenes, Project Achievement, and summer camp. The 4-H staff also works with the Cobb County School District and Marietta City Schools to provide in school supplemental Science and ELA speaking/writing lessons monthly.
Our Family and Consumer Science agent offers and designs educational programs for the community needs, provides information you can trust on money, home, health, food and family and oversees the EFNEP program which helps families on a budget learn to eat healthy.
