The mission of UGA Cobb Extension is to extend lifelong learning to the citizens of Cobb County through unbiased, research-based education in urban agriculture/horticulture, the environment, communities, youth and families.

  • Oct 23 2018 Northwest Georgia Master Cattleman Program The Master Cattlemen's Program delivers practical, science-based production management ideas to Georgia beef producers. UGA Extension Agents work with industry experts to deliver classes on topics such as nutrition, facilities, forages, economics, marketing, foreign animal diseases, agro-terrorism, general herd health, external parasites, reproduction, Beef Quality Assurance, sire selection, record keeping and Georgia Cattlemen's Association goals. Materials are intended to help Georgia beef producers be more profitable and sustainable. Participants meet one night a week for eight weeks. Attendees learn and discuss current issues, meet industry experts, and network with area producers. The program is held in the fall and winter each year, and rotates among the four regions of Georgia. Paid registration before August 17 entitles participant to free forage test. Participants can receive 1 credit for Private Pesticide Applicator re-certification of 2 credits for Commercial re-certification (Category 21). Dalton, GA - (63.0 Miles)
  • Oct 24 Jonesboro Farmers Market The Jonesboro Farmers Market is attracting more vendors and urban farmers to the market this year. There is no charge for farmers/vendors to participate at the market, which makes the market unique. The market's vendors include urban farmers with a variety of locally grown fresh fruits and vegetables, cottage food vendors with an array of homemade products and a handful of vendors selling house plants and vegetable seedlings to start your backyard garden. UGA Clayton County Master Gardener Extension volunteers are at every market day sharing Extension gardening information.
