Consumer Judging

Do you like shopping and saving money? Consumer Judging may be the perfect 4-H competition for you! Join the Cobb County 4-H Consumer Judging team as you learn to judge and comparison shop the following classes: fastfood meals, ties, gift cards, and sunglasses. Competitors will also give a short, yet creative commercial about cotton as a part of the competition. This judging team is open to 4th-12th grade 4-H'ers. Practices are held weekly on Thursday evenings from 6:30pm-8:00pm at the Extension Office. The competition will be held on Monday, October 30th. Horse Judging

Join the 2019 Cobb 4-H Horse Judging team! You do not have to own a horse to be a member of this team. Contestants will judge eight classes, four confirmation classes and four performance classes. 4-H'ers will learn the basics of judging and placing horses along with many other valuable skills including decision making, critical thinking, public speaking and more! Practices will be held in the spring ending with the competition in late April 2019. This judging team is open to 4th-12th grade students.

Poultry Judging

Poultry Judging is a unique and exciting judging team that teaches youth about poultry products and White Leghorn production hens. 4-H'ers judge the following classes: parts, exterior egg quality, interior egg quality, broken out eggs, ready-to-cook-birds, live birds, and general poultry knowledge. You do not have to own chickens to be a part of this judging team! Practices will be held on Thursdays from 6:30pm-8:00pm at the Extension Office beginning in March 2019. The competition will be held in April/May 2019. Your child will be an expert at selecting your grocery store eggs after being a participant on this judging team! This judging team is open to 4th-12th grade students.

Food Challenge

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be on the Food Network show Chopped? You don't have to wait much longer! Join the Food Challenge team open to 9th-12th grade 4-H'ers. Learn to work as a team as you and your teammates are given a box of mystery ingredients. The team must create a dish and a presentation all within 40 minutes. This high energy competition will teach your child cooking skills, teamwork skills, and much more. Practices are held June-August ending with the September competition at the State 4-H Food Showcase weekend.
