UGA Extension Fayette County is a partnership of The University of Georgia, Fayette County Government, Fort Valley State University, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture. It exists to serve all the people of Fayette County including Fayetteville, Peachtree City, Tyrone, Brooks, and in between.

Our mission is to extend lifelong learning to Georgia citizens through unbiased, research-based education in agriculture, the environment, communities, youth and families.

Mar 12 Vegetable Gardening Basics: Zoom Program Do you follow all the instructions and still have vegetable plants that “flop”? Are you ready to give up? If you answered yes, this class is for you. Join us for suggestions and techniques to grow your home vegetables in Georgia. This class will focus on site selection, purchasing plants (transplants vs. seeds), succession planting, and pest management. This is a beginner vegetable program.
Mar 19 Warm Season Lawn Care: Zoom Program In this Zoom program, we will focus primarily on Zoysiagrass, Bermudagrass, and Centipedegrass as we learn how to care for each of these grasses in the landscape.
Mar 24 Growing Vegetables in Containers FAYETTEVILLE, GA Learn helpful techniques as you grow your vegetables in containers. In this class, we will discuss how to get started with containers, varieties to consider, and common issues to look out for.

Apr 2 Gardening for Hummingbirds: Zoom Program Known for their incredible flight patterns and personality in the garden, hummingbirds are a wonderful pollinator to visit your garden. In this program, we will talk about some of the plants to add to your gardens to encourage hummingbirds as well as common hummingbirds for our area.

Apr 25 2026 Fayette County Master Gardener Extension Volunteer (MGEV) Plant Sale Fayetteville, GA The Fayette County Master Gardener Extension Volunteers (MGEVs) will host their Annual Plant Sale and Garden Clinic! Funds raised will support the UGA Fayette County Master Gardener Extension Volunteer projects and Extension programming. We hope to see you there!
