  • Jul 11 Water Bath Canning Class - Tomato Salsa Rockdale County Extension is holding six canning classes this year! These are hands-on workshops where you will learn the principles of safe food preservation and where to find tested recipes, as well as work in groups to complete all the steps to preserve the featured food. You'll get to taste the finished product and make a jar to take home! Your registration fee covers all class materials, light refreshments, and a jar of the finished product.   • Jul 25 - Jul 26 4-H2O Camp (Pike and Spalding Counties) Join in on educational, water fun for two days with trained environmental educators! Students will play water games, take field trips, and learn about water and environmental concepts during this action-packed camp. Each day will begin at 9:00 am and end at 4:00 pm. This camp is intended for rising 5th through 8th grade students. Space is limited to 24 students, so register early.
